A student must carry a minimum of five full credits (previous and current semester) and fail no more than one class from the previous semester in order to be eligible to participate in athletics. There are ongoing academic checks during the school year to verify continued eligibility. Students earning failing grades during an athletics season may become ineligible to participate.
Registration must be completed online via BigTeams.
Physicals must be signed and dated by a doctor and must last through entire sport season. Physicals will be uploaded as part of the Online Registration process. Find out more on the Sports Physicals page.

If you have transferred from another school (other than 9th graders) and this is your first season to participate in a sport, you must complete the Transfer Forms at BigTeams.' status='Published' slug='athletics-eligibility' publishdatetime='2021-01-26T10:38:38.435Z' expiredatetime='2040-01-01T10:38:38.435Z' videos=' channels=' categories='[object Object]' links='[object Object]'>
All athletes are required to complete the BigTeams/PlanetHS on-line registration process. If you have already created parent and/or athlete accounts, do not create a new one.
If you have not registered previously, or if you are an incoming Freshman, start with the BigTeams Parent/Student Getting Started page.
If you are transferring from another school, start with the BigTeams/PlanetHS Transfer Process.
Athletes may not participate in tryouts, practices, or compete without a completed registration. No paper registrations will be accepted.
Physicals must be current. We recommend having a summer physical for your athlete so participation is not delayed. Sports physical forms are uploaded as part of the BigTeams/PlanetHS registration process. Read more about Sports Physicals.
Incomplete or late registrations may delay participation in tryouts, practices and games.
In the “Sports Interest” section of BigTeams, only check the sports your athlete will be participating in or attending tryouts for.
Athletes may register for all seasons at one time but remember to only indicate which sports they will actually participate in.
If you are registering for Field Hockey or Gymnastics you must select the school where practices are held as your secondary enrollment school.
Students pay a fee for each sport in which they participate. Athletic fees cover a portion of the cost of operating the school athletic program.
Athletic fees may be made via Payforit, or at your school's Bookkeeping or Athletic Office via check or cash. We do not accept debit or credit cards over the phone.
Students participating in a sport at a school other than their regularly attended school will need to be assigned to that school. Athletes may not participate until the athletic assignment is complete. Please contact Mary Elsner at 719-234-1211.
Athletically assigned students must select the assigned school under the Secondary Enrollment option in Planet HS, and cannot use the PayForIt option to pay for fees. Contact the assigned school's athletics department for alternate payment methods.' status='Published' slug='athletics-registration' publishdatetime='2021-01-26T10:42:19.793Z' expiredatetime='2040-01-01T10:42:19.793Z' videos=' channels=' categories='[object Object]' links='[object Object],[object Object]'>
Physicals must be signed and dated by the doctor and uploaded during the BigTeams registration process. The athletics office does not accept paper copies.
We recommend getting a physical during the summer, as physicals expire yearly. If a physical is obtained during the school year, keep in mind that it may expire in the middle of an athletics season the following year, possibly causing delays in participation.' status='Published' slug='sports-physicals' publishdatetime='2021-01-26T10:45:46.697Z' expiredatetime='2040-01-01T10:45:46.697Z' videos=' channels=' categories='[object Object]' links='[object Object],[object Object]'>

This service is a free, initial evaluation and x-rays, if deemed appropriate by the attending provider. Any follow up care or additional treatment (e.g. casting, surgery, injections, MRI, CT scan, etc) is NOT considered Bumps and Bruises, and you or your medical insurance will be billed.
All 'bumps & bruises' visits will be coordinated by the school’s respective athletic trainer or athletic director. If the ATC determines an athlete needs to be seen by the Bumps and Bruises provider to assess the extent of an injury, the ATC will contact the athlete’s parents. Parents then must give the ATC verbal consent to schedule the appointment for the athlete.
